Snowball Budget is a standalone application that runs entirely on your device. We do not:
- Collect your name, email, or contact information
- Store your financial data on our servers
- Track your usage or behavior
- Use cookies or tracking pixels
- Transmit any data to external servers
- Share data with third parties
- Use analytics or monitoring tools
2. How Your Data is Stored
Your data stays on YOUR device.
All financial information you enter into Snowball Budget is stored in your browser's localStorage. This means:
- Data never leaves your computer/phone
- We cannot access your information
- No one can see your debts or income
- You have complete control over your data
3. Data Security
Your data is as secure as your device.
Because we don't collect or transmit your data, there's no risk of:
- Data breaches on our servers (we don't have servers)
- Hackers stealing your information
- Unauthorized access to your financial data
- Government requests for your data (we don't have it)
Your responsibility: Keep your device secure with a password/PIN. If someone accesses your device, they can access the app.
4. Data Backup and Export
Snowball Budget includes backup/export features that allow you to:
- Download your data as a JSON file
- Store backups wherever you choose (cloud, USB drive, etc.)
- Restore data from backups
Important: When you export data, YOU are responsible for securing that backup file. We don't store or access exported files.
5. Third-Party Services
Payment Processing (Gumroad)
We use Gumroad for payment processing.
When you purchase Snowball Budget:
- Gumroad handles payment and email communication
- Gumroad collects: email address, payment info, download history
- Gumroad's Privacy Policy applies: gumroad.com/privacy
- We receive: purchase notification, customer email (for support only)
We do NOT receive: Payment card numbers, billing addresses, or any financial information.
Website Analytics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website.
Google Analytics collects anonymous data about:
- Pages you visit on our website
- Time spent on each page
- Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
- Browser type (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.)
- Geographic location (city/country level only - not precise location)
- How you found our site (search engine, social media, direct link)
Important: This data is about website behavior only, NOT about the Snowball Budget app itself. We cannot see your debts, income, or financial data.

6. Customer Support
Limited data collection for support purposes only.
If you contact us for support via email:
- We collect: Your email address and message content
- Used only to respond to your inquiry
- Not shared with third parties
- Deleted after support issue is resolved (or 30 days, whichever is sooner)
7. Children's Privacy
Snowball Budget is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Data Retention
We don't retain your app data because we never have it.
Data entered in the app stays on your device until you:
- Clear browser data/localStorage
- Uninstall the browser
- Manually delete the app files
9. Your Rights
Because we don't collect your data, you automatically have:
- Right to access: All your data is on your device - you already have access
- Right to delete: Clear browser data or delete app files anytime
- Right to export: Use built-in backup feature
- Right to be forgotten: We don't have your data to forget
10. International Users
Because the app runs locally on your device, there are no international data transfers. Your data stays in your country, on your device.
11. Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the "Last Updated" date above. Changes will be posted on this page.
